Watch your step...

Stockshow2007_002_1 After a snow storm every week, with little rise in temps we are dealing with lots of snow.  The side streets (as pictured) are dangerous for pedestrians and challenging for cars.

I got stuck merely traversing this in my car.  A little rocking back and forth got me out, thankfully.

Accident numbers are increasing, people are checking into the emergency room for falls with injuries to wrists, hips and legs.  Be careful out there!

A day at the hospital

Dcp_4063 It's been a long day.  My hubby went in for surgery and as things sometimes go, nothing went as quickly as "he had planned."  Of course being the patient is not his best strength.

The hospital experience itself is good. We noted the difference between this facility at Skyridge and the one where his Mother has been at Aurora Medical. There is really no comparison.  One is old the other is new and modern.  The attitude from the front door to the recovery room was outstanding. The people there care.  They care about helping everyone and it shows.

We've got a few more days of recooperation before returning home, but so far I have no compliants, but then I'm  not the one lying in a hospital bed....check  back later.

Sound Bite Blog

I have blog envy.  As I travel around Blogtown, U.S.A.  I keep finding really hot looking blogs and wishing I could have one too.  The coolest new blog this week is the Sound Bite Blog run by Sparky and Buckwheat, a lender and Realtor® team in Washington State.  Their Sound Bite blog has wonderful graphics that jump right off the page.  I love the frog in a cup.  Go take a look, let me know what you think.

Be sure to tell them I sent you!

Republic Airways is hiring

Partnering with Frontier, Republic Airlines will be holding recruiting sessions at DIA to fill flight attendant slots.  The expansion of Republic will include 17 new planes for Frontier's regional jet service.   Online application are available at http://www.jobs.rjet.com

Considering all the new activity going on at DIA these days, I should think someone would be interested in buying my listing the Denver Crash Pad.  Its a fully furnished condo, located a mere 7 minutes from DIA employee parking.  The former owner is a retired Airline Pilot who barely used the place.  Be sure to check out the virtual tour.  The home is priced to include all the furnishings, from the kitchen  utensils to the sofa and artwork.  Price $137,900!

So Airline employees, make your layover in Denver a pleasant stay all the time.  Buy it for yourself or put together a co-op group  and buy it together.  Don't let it get away, call today!

Republic Airways Holdings owns Chautauqua Airlines, Republic Airlines and Shuttle America.  DIA is home to United Airlines, TED, Southwest, Jet Blue, and many others.

We've Got Snow!

Whether you are looking to make First Tracks or just want to enjoy a beautiful day in the mountains, you will find many alternatives a short ride from  Denver.

Most ski areas are reporting 3 to 8 feet of base with a few inches of new snow.  For snow reports try www.coloradoski.com

Wolf Creek is joyous reporting an accumulation of 21 feet!  Oh my!  The base depth is 8 feet, so if you are willing to make the drive you won't be disappointed.

Don't care to drive in the mountains?  Well the Ski Train might be the perfect solution for you.  Hop on board at Union Station downtown for an incredibly beautiful, carefree ride to Winter Park.   For more information of the Ski Train go here. (click on this link regardless, you've got to hear the train whistle!)

Lodoshotstrain_003 Making the trip for the scenery alone is worth it.  You will see more of Colorado's wonders than you would from a car.  The train travels across the city of Denver to the  north passing the Flatirons in Boulder, wilderness mountain terrain and the Moffat Tunnel

You can spend the day downhill skiing, boarding at Winter Park or cross country at Devil's  Thumb.  Or enjoy the shops in Winter Park and a nice long hot toddy.  No rush, no worries, the train will take you back home at the end of the day.

Living in the Denver Metro area lets you enjoy the benefits of being a tourist in your own town!  For information about real estate, neighborhoods and demographics, visit Denver Real Estate and Relocation.
