Conifer is a great mountain town, fairly close-in to metro Denver. Located just south on Highway 285 (that's Hampden Ave for those in the know), Conifer has grown from a sleepy little town to a very nice, modern place complete with many restaurants and two Starbucks!
It wasn't very long ago the drive to Conifer was difficult, but no longer thanks to the wide 4-lane highway.
Conifer, Colorado offers a variety of mountain living style homes. A word of caution if you decide to buy a home here, the views, peacefulness and the wonders of nature may get to you, rendering you worthless for ever living in the "flatlands" again!
I sold a home on top of Conifer mountain a couple months ago. Not only did the home have a magnificent view of Denver and the plains, it overlooked the town of Conifer too. The buyer fell in love at first sight when he saw the home. The deal was sealed when the fox family strolled out of the woods to visit.
Mountain living is not for everyone, but for most people it's the reason they move to Colorado!
